Editor's Perspective
About the time you receive this issue of MIT in the mail, KMI Media Group will be on the move—again. For the second time in five years, we are moving into larger offices to accommodate our phenomenal growth. When I started with the company more than six years ago, we were publishing four magazines. With the addition of Military Space and Missile Forum in August, we have doubled that number to eight. In addition, two of the original magazines have increased their frequencies.
We have also handled a variety of specialty publications on behalf of several DoD agencies. We have published the “DISA Buyers Guide” for eight straight years and recently completed a second “Who’s Who in DISA” on their behalf. In 2008, for the second year in a row, we published the official PEO STRI Products and Services Catalog as a separate, stand-alone publication, as well as the Army’s CHESS Contract Vehicles Guide. These and other specialty inserts reflect the confidence and trust within the community that we have established over the years.
The move is a positive benchmark of our success in being a conduit of information between the military and the defense industry. Our new quarters will accommodate all of the current needs and allow for the new growth planned for in 2009 and beyond. KMI Media Group is one of the few defense-related publishing firms that is expanding—not only in editorial, sales, art, circulation administrative staff, but also in the number of publications. What the move really means is that we are positioning ourselves for even greater growth in 2009.
Our new mailing address and phone numbers appear in this issue’s masthead. Our Web addresses, e-mail addresses and toll-free number will remain unchanged.
You should also take a few minutes to visit our Website. Throughout November we will be debuting new Websites for each of the magazines as well as the new corporate site. All of the current Web addresses remain the same, but the new sites reflect a more modern look and enhanced functionality and features. As always, please feel free to contact me via phone or e-mail with any comments or suggestions.
