General Martin E. Dempse
y assumed command from General William S. Wallace as commanding general of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. Wallace retired from active duty following this assignment.


Brigadier General Dana J. H. Pittard, commanding general, National Training Center and Fort Irwin, Fort Irwin, Calif., has been assigned as deputy chief of staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va.


Rear Admiral Richard O’Hanlon is being assigned as commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va. O’Hanlon is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, Operational Readiness and Training, N4/N7, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.


The DoD Modeling and Simulation Coordination Office has named Dr. Amy Henninger as an associate director. In this capacity, Henninger will provide technical expertise to support the analysis, review and evaluation of current and proposed M&S policies, processes, education, infrastructure and resources.


Quantum3D Inc. announced that Richard Fenwick has joined the company to lead a newly formed organization focused exclusively on quality. The 27-year engineering and product veteran will report directly to Quantum3D chairman and CEO Michael D’Addio.


Andrew Ramsden, products manager, Simulation and Training Solutions at Rockwell Collins, received the 2008 Edwin A. Link Award for excellence in the visual simulation industry. The award was presented at the Flight Simulator Engineering Maintenance Conference held in Salt Lake City, Utah.


Brigadier General Robert B. Abrams, deputy commanding general, Combined Arms Center for Training, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Leavenworth, Kan., has been assigned as commanding general, National Training Center and Fort Irwin, Fort Irwin, Calif.
